The MOL has been operating for all Swadlincote area surgeries for eight weeks now.
In the three weeks that it operated in September, savings of £13962 were made, at this Surgery alone, by patients not having been issued medicines that were not required.
The area saw overall savings of £35000.
Whilst this money is a saving rather than an income to the area, it means that £35000 can be utilised to enhance and improve other NHS services in your area.
This is an amazing achievement and we would like to thank our patients who have taken the time and effort to try this new system – you have contributed to this saving.
We know that there have been some teething issues relating to IT and telephones but the overwhelming response from patients has been positive.
Thank you once again.
